A killer drug-driver who mowed down a cyclist and left him for dead in the road has been locked up.

Jonathan Knight ploughed his Audi S3 into cyclist Anthony Smith - known as Tony - before rushing away from the scene.

The 31-year-old's car was so badly damaged that he was later spotted driving with his head sticking out of the window just so he could see.

Knight was finally caught when 50 glass fragments from his car's windscreen were found shattered across his clothing.

Leicester Crown Court heard how police were called to Ling Road, Loughborough, just after 8pm on July 7, 2023.

They found Mr Smith, 47, seriously hurt in the road.
