The advocacy group Everytown Research reports so far this year, there have been at least 90 incidents of gunfire on school grounds, resulting in 29 deaths and 69 injuries.

The latest school shooting arrived on Wednesday in Minneapolis, where two children were shot and killed at Annunciation Church and Catholic School as students were attending weekly mass.

Hamline University's Violence Prevention Project Research Center tracks mass and school shootings, publishing research and data with the goal of reducing violence.

Its database lists three fatal school shootings in the state since the year 2000, with the Annunciation shooting now set to be the fourth.
