(Reuters) -Paramount’s CBS News on Thursday named veteran broadcast and cable news journalist Kim Harvey as top producer of its flagship nightly newscast, “CBS Evening News”, making her only the second woman to helm the 77-year-old broadcast.

Harvey, who joined CBS News in 2017, is succeeding Guy Campanile and steps into the executive producer role after recently serving as senior broadcast producer.

A longtime “CBS Evening News” producer, Harvey previously worked at CNN, Fox News and MSNBC, on programs including “The Rachel Maddow Show” and “American Morning”.
