ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A west Georgia mayor has been found guilty of vehicular homicide and several other charges related to a 2015 crash that killed two teenagers and injured two others while he was a state trooper.

A.J. Scott, currently the mayor of Buchanan, was found guilty of one count of second-degree vehicular homicide, two counts of serious injury by vehicle, speeding and reckless driving.

Scott was acquitted of a second count of second-degree vehicular homicide.

He was put in handcuffs as soon as the verdict was read and taken to the Carroll County Jail.

He will be sentenced at a later date.
