GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - FOX Carolina Investigates is digging into school safety issues and response at the state’s largest school district.

We filed an open records request with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office for weapons seized by school resource officers during the 2024-2025 academic school year. We received 14 reports back from various schools. Most of the incidents involved knives.

Only two reports involved students making direct threats.

In one incident, a student reported another student had a “hit list” in a Google doc. Technical support accessed the student’s Google account, and found screenshots of a video game depicting shootings, a photo of a swastika, and a photo that said “Kill Yourself.”
