DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) -- Macon County Crime Stoppers is now involved in the manhunt for the suspect in a domestic violence incident that left a mother dead and two teenagers hurt more than a week ago.
38-year-old Dawnette Sigmon was killed the night of Aug. 20 in the driveway of a home on East Main Street. Police said she got into an argument with her on-and-off boyfriend, Latonian Johnson, that turned violent. Sigmon's two teenage children ran out to intervene, and that's when police said Johnson pulled out a knife and stabbed Sigmon and her children.
Johnson fled in his car while Sigmon and her children were transported to the hospital. The teens survived, but their mother succumbed to her injuries.
