A British grandmother claims she was confined to a cell for 22 hours before being forced to abandon her dream Spanish getaway after her passport went missing during the flight.
Pam Tweedale touched down in Madrid for what should have been the holiday of a lifetime alongside 13 relatives, but following her arrival without a passport and nearly 24 hours in detention, the 77 year old was obliged to return to Britain.
Her daughter Sharon Mann, 56, suspects Pam's passport fell from her handbag after she placed it beneath the seat during the Iberia Airlines journey from London Gatwick Airport to Madrid-Barajas on August 16.
