A MISSISSIPPI college football star was killed in a car crash.

Marcus Dickey, a junior college football player at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, died on Sunday.

Dickey had just transferred from Division-I Nicholls State to MGCCC this offseason and was on his way to campus when the crash happened.

No details have been released regarding what happened in the crash.

Dickey was a defensive lineman and appeared in games for Nicholls State in 2023.

"He was doing good,' MGCCC head coach Jack Wright said in a press release.

"He was the kind of kid who was the first one in the meeting, one of the first guys out at practice, and one of the hardest workers in the weight room.

"He always had a big ol' smile on his face. He was everything you would want out of a teammate. Everything.
