PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The day after a standoff in NW Portland that lasted over four hours, police have identified the suspect who was taken into custody.

Early Wednesday morning, police said Victor Palmer-Regen, 38, stabbed two people near NW 18th Ave. and Johnson St. He then fled into his home.

After several hours, police breached the front door, and they said Palmer-Regen left the home without force.

Palmer-Regen was taken to a hospital for treatment and then booked on several charges, including two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of second-degree assault and criminal mischief in the first degree.

Both stabbing victims are expected to survive their injuries, authorities said.
