ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) — The City of Albuquerque says it's planning to pause some major road construction projects in the coming months, specifically during the State Fair, Balloon Fiesta, and holiday shopping season. The goal is to reduce traffic delays during big events.
Beginning Sept. 4, the Department of Municipal Development says all road construction will be paused around the area of the State Fair Grounds. The pause is expected to last through Sept. 14 as the New Mexico State Fair comes to an end. Menaul Boulevard on the north, Pennsylvania Street on the east, Southern Boulevard on the south, and San Mateo Boulevard on the west are included, as well as "key arterial and collector routes commonly used by attendees of this event."
