This is, somehow, Julia Roberts’s first time at the Venice Film Festival. She’s in Luca Guadagnino’s After the Hunt , with Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edebiri — accusations, dark secrets, academia — and she must be very happy to be part of it because his face is plastered all over that cardigan. I find this hilarious, and beyond that, I think she looks great — chic and casual, styled to spotlight the sweater (as if you could ever diminish it), and perfect for a town where she’ll have to clamber in and out of water taxis. Not for nothing, she’s also toting a Celine luggage “Smile” bag that isn’t even available yet, and whose grin looks weirdly like a McDonald’s Happy Meal. However, the most noteworthy thing for me is that when I look at this from a distance, I keep wanting the face to be Bill
