A 36-year-old father of three children died after falling from a mountain in Wales, authorities said.

An inquest was opened on Wednesday, Aug. 27, into the death of Thomas Alan Smith of Bolton, England, the BBC , NorthWalesLive and Manchester Evening News reported.

According to the North West Wales Coroner’s Office, Smith traveled to North Wales to climb Yr Wyddfa, also known as Snowdon, on the morning of Aug. 16.
