GARLAND, Texas — U.S. Marshals arrested a man this week and charged him with murder in connection with the 2024 death of an infant in North Texas, officials say.
The U.S. Marshals Service arrested Andrew Garza, 20, at an apartment complex in Garland Aug. 27 on a charge of capital murder of a person under 10 years of age, according to the Hunt County Sheriff's Office. Garza was taken to the Hunt County Detention Center, where he's being held on a $1,250,000 bond, records show.
Garza's arrest stems from an investigation into the death of an infant at a home on Mesa Court in Royse City in November of 2024, deputies say.
The child was taken to Children's Hospital in Dallas and later pronounced dead, officials say. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office did an autopsy on the child.
