Ahead of Labor Day Weekend , what’s expected to be a busy three-day travel period , a Newark Airport ground stop put trips on pause on Thursday, August 28th.

Although the FAA has lifted the ban from noon and the “equipment issues” have been addressed, roughly 170 flights are affected from the disruption. Per multiple sources, wait times can amount to roughly 150 minutes, which can feel incredibly frustrating to those venturing through one of the world’s busiest airports .

This news comes on the heels of a disruptive spring for the airport , when the FAA predicted that the turmoil could last for roughly five months.
