HYRUM – A fifth candidate has entered the upcoming GOP special election race to replace County Executive David Zook.

Hyrum Mayor Stephanie Miller filed for the Sept. 11 special election on Aug. 27, joining previously announced candidates Dirk Anderson, Craig Anhder, Micah Safsten and Rhyan Dockter.

Miller has more than 20 years of experience in public service, having served a mayor of Hyrum since 2013 and is currently seeking a fourth term in that office.

Her previous experience includes 10 years on the Hyrum City Council, three years as the city’s administrator and membership on multiple regional and state boards.

In mid-August, Zook announced that the would retire from public service effective Monday, Sept. 8.
