CEDAR COUNTY, Mo. — A woman from Stockton faces an involuntary manslaughter charge after a crash earlier this year left a person dead.

According to court dockets, Janice Lee Broom, born in 1946, is charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter in Cedar County Circuit Court.

The probable cause statement says the crash occurred on Feb. 24, 2025, east of Missouri Highway 245 on Highway 32 in Cedar County.

The statement says Broom, who was westbound in a 2017 Buick Envision, crossed the center of Highway 32 and struck an eastbound 2022 Chevrolet Blazer head-on.

One of the passengers in the Chevrolet was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A warrant for Broom's arrest has been issued with a $10,000 bond set. If convicted, she faces up to four years in prison.
