UPSHUR COUNTY, Texas — The Upshur County Sheriff's Office say an "armed and dangerous" wanted man has been found dead.

According to the UCSO, Lucas Stevens was located in Smith County following several leads. He was found dead from a reported self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Stevens was wanted for burglary and ATV theft. Officials say he was known for breaking into multiple homes, and stealing guns and vehicles.

"Thank you to all agencies and community members who assisted in this effort," the UCSO said.
