A national fire safety agency is raising questions about whether the Gabriel House assisted living facility in Fall River , Massachusetts, was up to date with its state-required inspections at the time of the fire that killed 10 residents .
"We know it had had annual inspections, we had confirmation from the state fire marshal's office that those had been done, but the one piece that we did not have confirmation on is the five-year inspections, which would be an internal inspection," said Shane Ray, president of the National Fire Sprinkler Association.
