MANTEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) - As teaching and learning styles evolve, Manatee County educators are transforming the ways they’re approaching education.

It’s a topic that was heavily focused on during a Tiger Bay Club luncheon Thursday discussing the past, present, and future of education.

Educators ranging from the k-12 level to higher education met along with community members to not only highlight past educational achievements but also set the stage for what they want the future to look like.

Dr. Laurie Breslin, who was announced as the new superintendent of Manatee County Schools earlier this week, says the new school year will see a near record number of teaching positions filled.

“Our vacancies are at an all-time low then anything we have seen in recent years, which is phenomenal.
