PITTSBURGH - A Lawrence County man was sentenced Thursday to 17 years in prison for producing and attempting to produce material depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor.
Thomas Hyatt-Baney, 21, of Wampum, Pennsylvania, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh to 204 months in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release. The judge also ordered a $100 special assessment and forfeiture, with restitution to be determined later.
The sentencing follows Hyatt-Baney's conviction on one count of production and attempted production of child sexual abuse material. Federal prosecutors dismissed two other counts as part of the sentencing.
Hyatt-Baney was initially indicted on July 25, 2024, on charges of producing and possessing child sexual abuse material.
