SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Citizens of Greene County are invited to join a program in learning how to grow native plants from a seed on Friday, September 19.
According to a Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) news release, the department is hosting an online program titled "Native Plants: Seed Sowing Basics" from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 19.
The program will be led by MDC Naturalist Jordi Raos as she will explain the best times to sow native plant seeds.
Raos will educate participants on how to collect and store native seeds during the next growing season. The release states that the best time to sow seeds is during the fall and winter.
MDC says the event is free for all ages, but registration is required to attend. For more information, visit their website.
