The Greenville Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run that left a pedestrian seriously injured on Wednesday night.
Authorities say the call came in around 8:00 p.m. on August 27 regarding a pedestrian struck in the 800 block of Washington Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a black male victim lying in the roadway after being hit by a vehicle.
The victim, a 77-year-old man, was airlifted for further medical treatment. His identity has not yet been released pending proper family notification.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing, and additional details will be released as they become available.
