BUTTS COUNTY, Ga. — Lt. Gov. Burt Jones kicked off his campaign for governor in front of hundreds of supporters at a rally Tuesday night in Butts County.

The Trump-endorsed lieutenant governor was joined by speakers that included Georgia GOP Chairman Josh McKoon, Trump confidante Bruce LeVell and current U.S. treasurer Brandon Beach (a state senator until he took the federal post).

Lt. Gov. Jones announced his 2026 campaign back in July but used Tuesday night as a ceremonial launching point.

"It's a hometown kickoff, obviously we've done other events but this one's special because it's right here where I was born and raised, have a lot of family and friends here," Jones said.
