After the Cubs struck first in the top half of the first inning, the eight-year veteran provided an immediate response, pacing the Giants to an eventual 4-3 win on a walk-off single from Jung Hoo Lee at Oracle Park on Thursday.

Adames took advantage of a walk that Cubs starter Shota Imanaga allowed to Rafael Devers in the previous at-bat, ambushing him with a big swing on a first-pitch fastball up in the zone and driving it 417 feet for a two-run home run that gave the Giants the lead.
