BOWLING GREEN — Bowling Green State University’s enrollment is soaring, but state funding is not rewarding the performance.

At a special meeting Thursday, the BGSU Board of Trustees officially approved the fiscal year budget for 2026. A draft had been approved earlier this summer, before the biennium state budget was signed July 1 by Gov. Mike DeWine.

The budget for 2026 has total revenues of $501.5 million, said Sheri Stoll, the university’s chief financial officer and vice president for finance and administration, in a presentation to the board.

It includes $93.9 million from the state share of instruction, $246.9 million in tuition and fees, and $149.2 million in other income.
