SAN ANTONIO — A Bexar County sheriff’s deputy was arrested Thursday after investigators say he assaulted a fellow deputy he was in a relationship with last year.

Abel Munoz Sifuentes, 29, was taken into custody by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office Public Integrity Unit on a charge of assault causing bodily injury to a family member. The arrest stems from a May 2024 incident.

According to the sheriff’s office, the victim, who was also a deputy, told investigators that Sifuentes returned home after a shift at the Bexar County Jail, "entered their bedroom, grabbed her by the shirt, lifted her off the bed, dropped her back onto the bed and pushed her against a wall." She also reported that Sifuentes struck her in the face.

The alleged assault was disclosed during the victim’s exit interview
