GROVETOWN, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Columbia County neighbors are hoping to have their voices heard against a proposed solar farm during next week’s commission meeting.

On Sept. 4, the county commission is set to decide whether to rezone about 40 acres of land across from Patriots Park.

Those against the plan say- it’s in a much too populated area, and there are better uses for that much land.

Development is at the forefront of nearly everyone’s minds in the county, but when Bijan Solar LLC submitted its plans back in June to the planning commission to build a solar farm, people were skeptical.
