DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Northland lawmakers are fired up and frustrated after Wednesday’s shooting in Minneapolis claimed the lives of children.

A day after the violence, our northern Minnesota lawmakers are expressing a mix of fiery emotions and deep sadness.

That includes republican Rep. Natalie Zeleznikar of Fredenberg Township, who says yesterday’s events could have been avoided.

“We can do better, there are solutions and there’s other states that are doing it, they are providing security to their schools, and we are inadequately prepared,” said Zeleznikar.
