BEREA, Ohio – An intoxicated Brook Park man, 21, was arrested at about 1 a.m. Aug. 24 after he slammed his Chevrolet Equinox into a median off the left side of Front Street near Liberty Street.
Police were traveling behind the Equinox when the crash occurred. The car’s front end was damaged due to the crash. The car turned onto East Grand Street and stopped.
The Equinox smelled like alcohol. The man said he crashed the car because his two passengers had distracted him. His eyes were bloodshot and glassy.
The man told police he had consumed just one Corona beer, with lime. However, when he stepped out of the Equinox at the request of police, he lost his balance and almost fell onto the car.
The man failed field sobriety tests.
