CARTERVILLE — Those driving between Carbondale and Carterville for work, school or other activities may see a bit of a snag in traffic over the next couple years.

The stretch of Illinois 13 crossing Crab Orchard Lake will be the subject of an expansion project, which will see the bridge rebuilt along with additional lanes each way and a bike lane connecting the two sides.
