U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock have secured $900,000 in federal funding to combat the opioid epidemic in Georgia.
The funds, awarded through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), will support overdose prevention, addiction treatment, and recovery services statewide.
“Like so many Georgians, I’ve lost friends to the opioid epidemic. These resources, which I’ve secured with bipartisan support, will fund efforts to prevent and treat addiction, save lives, and help address the opioid crisis,” Sen. Ossoff said.
Sen. Warnock added, “As a pastor, I’ve sat with families as they’ve struggled with the anguish of a loved one suffering from addiction. So I understand how the opioid epidemic has devastated communities across the country and impacted countles
