St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin receives heart association honors

St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, a member of Prime Healthcare, has been awarded the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines-Stroke Gold Plus and its Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll awards.

The Gold Plus award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive treatment following nationally recognized, research-based guidelines, according to a news release.

The honor roll award recognizes hospitals that ensure patients with Type 2 diabetes, who face higher risks of stroke complications, receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based care, the release said.
