LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
The University of Louisville is reportedly planning to engage with the NCAA over the possible restoration of the school’s 2013 men’s basketball national championship banner.
Louisville’s championship was vacated in 2017 in the aftermath of a sex scandal involving players on the team and potential recruits. Advertisement
The program also had 123 wins vacated because of the scandal, including an appearance in the 2012 Final Four.
The school filed an appeal to keep the championship banner, but that was denied in 2018.
According to WLKY in Louisville , the school is again making an effort to have that championship season officially recognized.
