CLOVIS, N.M. (KAMR/KCIT) — A Clovis woman pleaded guilty to one count of "Negligently Making a Firearm Accessible to a Minor," according to the Ninth Judicial District Attorney's Office.

The Ninth Judicial District Attorney, Quentin Ray, announced that Rachel Aranda, 35, of Clovis, pleaded guilty to one count of "Negligently Making a Firearm Accessible to a Minor," a misdemeanor offense.

According to the DA's office, the case stems from a March incident when officers responded to a report involving an individual with a weapon. Officers were called to the 700 block of Axtell Street, where one person reported that an ex-boyfriend had unlawfully entered the residence. During a domestic dispute, the suspect, a 16-year-old male, pointed a firearm at the victim and her infant child.
