CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Missouri Department of Conservation(MDC) officials ask that hunters prepare properly for the upcoming dove hunting season.

The season is open from September 1 to November 29, this year.

Daily limits for mourning doves and white-winged doves are 15 birts with a possession limit of 45.

“With ample public hunting areas, managed fields, and solid bird populations, dove season offers some of the most accessible and exciting wing-shooting action of the year,” said MDC Protection Regional Supervisor Russell Duckworth. “It’s fast-paced, social, and a perfect opportunity to introduce new hunters to the outdoors. Whether you’re hunting with family, friends, or a youth group, it’s one of the most enjoyable seasons we offer.”
