WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ind. —
The trial for a mother accused of killing her son, who was found inside a suitcase in southern Indiana, has been pushed back.
Dejaune Anderson was set to stand trial on Oct. 7.
This came after a judge ruled she was deemed competent to stand trial in the death of her 5-year-old son, Cairo Jordan.
He was found dead in a suitcase in Washington County, Indiana, in April 2022.
Now, her trial has been pushed back until next year.
Her new trial date is set for Jan. 6, 2026.
A second woman, Dawn Coleman , pleaded guilty to her role in Cairo's death. She is serving a 25-year prison sentence.
