HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Users of Kailua Municipal Parking Lot will encounter temporary stall and entrance closures over a two-week period in October.

The city says partial closures and traffic detours are necessary as crews conduct an archeological survey to identify any findings with cultural or historical significance ahead of an upcoming improvement project.

While the parking lot will remain open to the public, partial closures will take place Wednesday, Oct. 15, through Friday, Oct. 31.

Up to eight stalls will be closed at a time as crews excavate 15 sites within the property.

Work hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and exclude weekends and holidays.
