On Thursday, a man in Limestone County pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a child, according to the Limestone County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office says Ray Thomas Burrow pleaded guilty in Limestone County Circuit Court to sodomy involving a child under the age of 12.

In June 2020, the sheriff's office says they received a report of child sexual abuse. The case was investigated by the sheriff's office along with the Limestone County Children's Advocacy Center and the Limestone County District Attorney's Office. Burrow was indicted by a Limestone County Grand Jury in January 2021.

Burrow was sentenced to 20 years in the Alabama Department of Corrections and will have to register as a sex offender upon release.
