When explaining the negotiations and why they broke down, Jerry referenced old negotiations with former star receiver Michael Irvin, how they were going back and forth, and Irvin was turning down his offer. Jones then invoked El Paso, and Irvin gave in.

"I said, 'Michael, there is an old West Texas town called El Paso,'" Jones explained. 'I El Paso." He goes, 'God knows, give it to me, I can't even deal with it.'"

That was the only time during the press conference that Jones used "Michael" accurately, as he often and repeatedly referred to Micah Parsons as "Michael."
