Mary Davis, wife of country music legend Randy Travis, has shared how she refused to “pull the plug” during his life-threatening medical crisis in 2013, USA Today reports .
Doctors believed Travis, who is now 66, wouldn’t survive after he suffered a stroke and multiple complications, including a staph infection and three hospital-acquired bacterial infections. Despite medical advice to end life support, Davis saw a sign of hope, the report said.
“That was the moment that I knew that Randy Travis was gonna make it because he squeezed my hand and a tear went down his face,” Davis told Fox News in the interview published Tuesday. “And I said, ‘He’s still fighting.’”
Despite the challenges, Travis has not only survived but is now exploring innovative ways to continue his musical legacy.
