DETROIT – High school football is back, and the a season brought a decisive revenge for Clarkston, who overpowered Belleville in the Amazon Prep Kickoff Classic at Wayne State University in Detroit.

The Wolves avenged their narrow 35-28 loss to start the 2024 season, rolling over Belleville’s defense to chalk a 38-7 victory.

Clarkston quarterback Alex Waszczenko connected with Hank Hornung and handed off to twin brothers Griffin and Lukas Boman for multiple touchdowns, while junior Belleville quarterback Kendall Franklin struggled in his first start.

Belleville’s lone touchdown came in the final seconds on a rolling clock, when Franklin found Charles Britton III for a 37-yard touchdown pass.

The Wolves will host Harper Woods next Friday, while travel to Dearborn Fordson.
