ATLANTA — The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is putting its foot down as it works to combat laser strikes against pilots in the United States, including Georgia.

In August, the FAA's Law Enforcement Assistance Program (LEAP) agents conducted targeted outreach, training and collaboration with local, state and federal law enforcement as they work to fight against laser strikes in areas that have the highest number of incidents this year.

Georgia, despite being lower on the list, made the cut as one of the states with the most reported laser strikes in the U.S. in 2025. The list includes:

• Texas - 557

• Florida - 395

• Arizona - 311

• Illinois - 289

• Tennessee - 229

• New York - 209

• Indiana - 206

• Virginia - 178

• Georgia - 166
