Three of the Monroe County Region's Huron League teams made strong opening statements in the 2025 high school football season on Friday, Aug. 28.

St. Mary Catholic Central, Jefferson and Flat Rock posted decisive victories over teams that made the state playoffs last season.

Other Region winners were Ida, Gibraltar Carlson, Whiteford and Summerfield.
