Here are reports and scores from Thursday's opening night of high school football in the Metro Detroit area.

Chelsea 41, Detroit Denby 26: Chris Kendrick compiled 315 all-purpose yards and threw three touchdowns for Detroit Denby while Trey Bush had two touchdowns and an interception. Dorron Jennings added 155 all-purpose yards also on offense. On defense, Kenny McClinton had three sacks in the loss.

Detroit Edison 20, Detroit Southeastern 0: Harper Bolden recorded three sacks, two of which resulted in safeties. Deneir Harris-Wright had 12 tackles; Jaivon Plowden added five tackles for loss and Max Baker II had four tackles behind the line of scrimmage to round out a strong defensive performance for Edison. Kayden Upshaw had 90 receiving yards and a touchdown to lead the offense.
