ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Firefighters with the St. Louis City Fire Department battled a second-alarm fire Thursday in the Tower Grove South neighborhood.
The fire broke out in the 4000 block of Gravois in a mixed-use building. The lower floor holds businesses and the second floor has several apartments.
St. Louis Fire Chief Dennis Jenkerson told First Alert 4 that a second-alarm fire was called due to needing extra manpower because of the building size and the fact that there were bars on some doors and windows.
Jenkerson said everyone was out of the building before firefighters arrived on scene.
