Bicyclist killed after struck by van in Indian Land

INDIAN LAND, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A bicyclist was killed Thursday afternoon in Lancaster County.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at 1:27 p.m. on Fort Mill Highway (SC 160) in Indian Land. That’s where a Ford transit van and bicycle were each traveling east, and the van struck the bicycle.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene, and the van passengers were uninjured.

The identification of the deceased is unknown at this point.

The incident remains under investigation by Highway Patrol.
