It was a nightmare start for Billy Edwards Jr.
The former Maryland quarterback exited his Wisconsin debut after suffering a noncontact injury during Thursday night’s season opener against Miami (Ohio).
Edwards was injured after faking a handoff during the second quarter and rushing off tackle. His left knee appeared to buckle , and he immediately fell to the turf at Camp Randall Stadium. The graduate student walked off the field under his own power and went into the medical tent before heading to the locker room accompanied by a team staff member.
