COLDWATER — Following Thursday's 100th meeting between Coldwater and Sturgis on the football field, one team felt comfortable with the outcome. The other knows it still has quite a bit of work to do to get things turned around this season.
Coldwater hosted the Trojans for the milestone meetup and picked up the team's first win of the year, a 44-6 final. Coming into the game, Coldwater coach Jeff Schorfhaar and Sturgis coach Chance Stewart knew winning the battle in the trenches was going to play a big role.
Schorfhaar was pleased with his team's performance in that regard. The Cardinals rolled up 413 yards of total offense and ran for 169 yards on the ground, a number he was happy with.
