HAZLETON, Pa. — One group in Luzerne County is learning how to recognize and avoid electrical hazards.

PPL Electric's live-line electrical safety exhibit visited the Hazleton City Fire Department for live demonstrations. Trained staff showed the group what happens when certain objects come into contact with live wires.

"The best thing to always remember is when there's a wire down, you never approach it and you stay away from it, and you make that call. 911 gets you a response from us as well when there's a wire down," said Doug Haupt, PPL Manager of Public Safety.

PPL's exhibit also included safety lessons related to solar and battery power.
