The Minneapolis mass shooting is on the minds of many in Maryland, especially those in the Catholic community.

The Archdiocese of Baltimore is not only praying for the victims, but also taking action to secure their schools.

Monsignor Rick Hilgartner, with the Archdiocese of Baltimore, said Wednesday’s mass shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis hit too close to home — happening in the middle of Mass.

“Suddenly, it pointed to how vulnerable any of us is to this kind of tragedy,” Hilgartner said.
